Following the changes in regulations introduced at the regional level on the subject (GiovaniSì Project), since May 2012 the University of Florence has adopted a new agreement for the activation of curricular and extracurricular internships. Therefore it became necessary to review all the agreements previously stipulated with companies and/or organizations. All the companies interested in hosting interns will have to request the drafting of a new agreement by accessing the online service and following the procedure as a new company. The activation time for the new agreements will not exceed 30 working days.
• Students and recent graduates (to find or apply for an internship)
• Companies and institutions Please note - This procedure is not valid for the activation of professional qualification internships and apprenticeships
• Teaching Staff
Through the University St@ge online service it is possible to autonomously identify internship opportunities that best suit individual needs and the course of study, bearing in mind that it is possible both to adhere to already "active" internship opportunities and apply for an internship with institutions or companies partnering with University.Once entered the database, complete your profile in the application form. There are different ways to search for companies in the University database:- by "study area" in the "Search for opportunities”form, by entering the requested data, it is possible to view only companies or institutions having "active" and concrete internship opportunities at the time of the search.- by “activities” indicated with the Ateco 2007 classification code developed by ISTAT. The Ateco code groups companies into several categories. For instance, code 99.00.00 identifies the list of companies in the "Extraterritorial organizations and bodies" sector. In this way, the list of all companies partnering with University will be displayed, including those companies which might welcome interns even though they are not proposing internship opportunities at the time of the search. The search of the company by activity, in the "company search" section, is the most complete and fast way to find companies in the database. To this end, to find the Ateco codes relevant to the School Degree courses, please refer to this page.Initial contacts with companies or institutions are entirely left to the initiative of each student or recent graduate who must agree on the methods, duration and frequency of the internship depending on the needs of the host institution and on the number of credits that the student wants to acquire.
If the student wishes to carry out an internship at a company or institution not partnering with University yet, a request for an agreement must be submitted.
To start an internship, it is necessary to draw a training project in agreement with the host company. The project will have to be signed both by the company (legal representative and company tutor) and by University (University tutor and President of the Degree course) must be drawn. The student who adheres to an internship offer, is already enabled to fill in the project online. Otherwise the student will have to be authorized by the School administrative contact, Internship Office. In order to be authorized to complete the project online, the student must communicate to email@example.com the name of the company where he/she intends to carry out the internship and the registration number; once enabled, the student will access the filling in function through the st@ge on line service by selecting“subscriptions”and then "Project management" option. Once completed and printed, the internship project must be delivered with the required signatures at least 5 days before the scheduled start date to the administrative contact of the School. In any case, the internship can only begin after the transmission of the "Training and orientation project". This will be sent by email to the student and to the host institution by the School's Placement and internship Office. The University tutor for extra-curricular internships is Prof. Fabrizia Mealli.University tutors for curricular internships are reported on the websites of the study courses.
a) Each CFU credit corresponds to 25 hours of individual work. Therefore the internships of:3 credits correspond to a minimum of 75 hours6 credits correspond to a minimum of 150 hours9 credits correspond to a minimum of 225 hours12 credits correspond to a minimum of 300 hours.
The duration of the internship must in any case be agreed with the host institution. The minimum indicated above only shows the minimum number of hours needed to comply with curricular requirements. Please note that for recently graduated students, internships cannot last less than two months and more than six months, including extensions. This can be extended up to 24 months, including extensions, if the candidates are disabled persons pursuant to law 68/99. Furthermore, these internships can only be undertaken by students who have graduated within the last twelve months. The presence of the intern in the company must be registered on a specific attendance form and in the diary of the training and orientation internship.
At the end of the internship, the student must report to the University tutor on the placement experience carried out.
Furthermore, at the end of the internship, the company tutor, the University tutor and the student must complete online the final evaluation questionnaire; after the three questionnaires have been completed, the company tutor draws up, online, the final report which will then be approved by the University tutor.
The student who has already carried out or is carrying out work or any internship activity in organizations or companies may obtain acknowledgement of the credits accrued on the internship. To this end, the student must fill in the specific form and submit it together with a statement of the activity carried out to the Teaching staff coordinating the internships of the Degree course; after obtaining the credit recognition by the competent bodies of the Degree program, all documents will be returned to the student and must be delivered to the School's Placement and Internship Office.Students who have completed an internship under the Erasmus + Traineeship program must follow this procedure.
To formally acquire the credits corresponding to the internship carried out, students must register online for the "placement and internship" dates and sign the relative minutes on the dates indicated by the Teaching Staff in charge of the placement of their Degree course or curriculum.
