In- person  and online classes

Classes for the Degree courses of the School of Political Sciences began on 20th of September 2021, as scheduled and reported in the Academic Calendar.

All courses will take place face-to-face, in compliance with safety protocols on distancing and tracing (Delibera del Consiglio di Amministrazione del 16 luglio 2021 e del Senato Accademico del 29 luglio 2021).

In-person attendance is subject to COVID-19 pandemic regulations. To access all university facilities the Green Pass and QR code are required. Wearing face-coverings is mandatory.

To ensure that all students are able to attend class, due to reduced classroom capacity in compliance with the rules on social distancing, lectures will be delivered in hybrid mode: it will be possible to attend both face-to-face and remotely.

For presence-tracing purposes, in-person attendees must book their place through the Agenda WEB.

Reservations will be accepted until maximum classroom capacity is reached. A system of staggered classes, which students can weekly book for as long as there is availability, is being implemented.

Students who will not manage to book a place will be able to attend classes  online on the Moodle platform. To clarify the procedure, a tutorial (pdf) on the access to the online classes has been set up.

Video recordings of the classes will be made available to students on the Moodle platform for one week-period in non-downloadable default mode.

Only students with matriculation number may access both the booking site and the Moodle platform. For further information please refer to the registration site.

The "Agenda WEB" application allows to consult the timetable and classrooms where classes are held. The system is constantly updated.

Reservation for in-person attendance

Students who want to attend face-to-face lessons every day, will be able to reserve a place for classes scheduled in the following 10 days. Classroom seats reservations will not be possible for classes scheduled in the next 48 hours.

In order to book their place students will have to access Agenda Web  through their University access credentials (registration number and password). Manuale prenotazione posto in aula (italian handbook for classroom registrations).

Students are required to create their own profile with all the courses they choose to attend in-person (NB: students who used the application in 2020/2021 Academic Year should first delete their old profile and create a new one with the teachings of the course of study of interest).

Following an update, it is possible to add three additional free-choice modules to the profile on Kairos, in addition to those included in the chosen degree program.

To create a new profile, you need to access the box “Prenota il tuo posto a lezione” -> “Gestisci il tuo profilo”.

The profile can be created by selecting the options from the drop-down menu:

•  Educational structure: School of Political Sciences

•  Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree

•  Course of study:  name of the course

•  Teaching term: First semester

The courses should be selected by ticking the related box.

 At this stage, click on:

Prenota il tuo posto a lezione >  Nuova prenotazione> Verifica e prenota il tuo posto Book your place in class> New booking> Check and book your place.

If unable to attend the classes, students should cancel the reservation to allow other students to attend. Classroom seat cancellations are not allowed for classes scheduled in the next 48 hours.

Once the reservation is made, a QRCode will be sent to access the classroom, downloadable here.

Please note that students will be able to access the facilities only through a reservation made through the computer system (the QRCode will be the same, but it will only scan  after a new reservation has been entered).

The turnstiles located at the entrance to the structure allow to access the classrooms, after checking body temperature through the thermo scanner and the QR Code reader.

Auditors (students temporarily lacking the needed documentation for enrolment or awaiting transfer from another University)

To students enrolling in free access degree courses, with a qualification gained abroad and temporarily without the needed documentation for enrolment, to graduates awaiting result of the evaluation application to access the Master's degree and to undergraduates from other universities, who intend to continue their studies at a Master's degree course at the University of Florence, is given the possibility of enrolling in the online course "Auditor at classes" free of charge.

The registration process can be completed through the online services: the user must proceed to a preliminary registration, subsequently from the private area they must access the menu and click on enrolment, then on standard enrolment (enrolment> standard enrolment) immatricolazione->immatricolazione standard.

Registration will allow to obtain the credentials (matriculation number and password) to access online classes available through the Moodle platform.

The auditor has the opportunity to attend classes online, but is not entitled to take exams or tests. Registering as an auditor is incompatible with the enrolment on a degree course. Therefore, once obtained the documentation/qualifications needed to access the courses of study, before enrolling, the administrative position has to be closed by following the instructions reported in the confirmation email received after completing the enrolment in the auditor course.
