Learning Objectives
The course provides the key quantitative analysis tools for the study of social and economic phenomena . The course is divided into two parts : the design and realization of a sample survey and the construction and analysis of social indicators . The course allows you to : gain knowledge about measurement issues and quantification of phenomena such as decision support tool for knowledge , define and interpret the subjective and objective indicators , knowing how to carry out all stages of an investigation quantitative . Exercises on real data using statistical software cosentiranno know how to apply their knowledge . During the course we will analyze the methodologies used in the surveys carried out by ISTAT or by other producers of official statistics agencies.
Prerequisites
The student must have a basic knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics. Otherwise additional lectures notes, handouts and readings will help to fill in the gaps.

Type of Assessment
The final exam is designed to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills through a written durability testing, normally 1 hour without the opportunity to consult notes or books . The test consists of questions to free choice and / or multiple choice and / or true / false regarding the course program . Scores will be declared in the trial . The oral examination consists of the written test for deeper discussion of topics with the teacher and aims to bring out the acquisition of learning outcomes . The score of the oral examination contribute to the final score . The minimum score is 18/30 . The purpose of this analytical gradation of the performance of the student is to reliably assess the level of achievement of the expected learning results set out above .
